How do I get started?

If you’re new to dancing, the best place to start is one of our drop-in Intro Salsa Lessons on Friday nights or Sunday afternoons, our monthly Saturday Beginner Salsa Bootcamp, or jumpsign up for weekly beginner salsa classes. Click the button below to find more info about all of these ways to get started dancing on our New to Salsa page.

Did you know that dancing makes you happy and can help you live a more active life, reduce stress, develop new friendships, and much more. It’s fun too! What are you waiting for?

Studies show that social interaction is one of the most important factors in your mental and physical health and well-being. That means spending less time looking at a screen and more time participating in engaging social activities like dance classes. More real time with real people.

Beginner Salsa Bootcamp

Are you curious to try a beginner salsa class to see if you like it, without having to sign up for weekly lessons? The Beginner Salsa Bootcamp is Vancouver’s most popular entry point into salsa for people new to dancing. It’s a fun, beginner-friendly, non-intimidating introductory class, and it’s how many of our students who now regularly attend classes got started.

The Beginner Salsa Bootcamp is a three-hour introductory workshop held once-a-month on Saturday afternoons. It provides a more intensive and practical learning experience than a typical drop-in beginner lesson and many people who register for weekly classes start off with this introductory salsa workshop to try salsa dancing and see if it’s something they enjoy.

Fun, beginner-friendly, social, and no dance experience necessary. And no partner necessary either, it doesn’t matter if you come on your own or as a couple.

The next Beginner Salsa Bootcamp is on Saturday March 17

Welcome New Students

Whether you are new to dancing or you’ve been dancing for years, at D2 Dance Studio we provide you with a fun and rewarding experience through our dance classes and social dance events. We offer group classes and workshops in partner dance styles such as Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Zouk, Tango, Hustle and more, from beginner to advanced levels.

LOCATION

We’re located in one of Vancouver’s most popular neighbourhoods: Mount Pleasant. You’ll find us at 55 West 8th Ave (Map), nestled between Main St and Cambie and near Olympic Village. Conveniently close to many of Vancouver’s best coffee shops, cafes, restaurants, and craft breweries, we love being part of the bustling community of new businesses in this charming neighbourhood.

DO I NEED A PARTNER?

Do I need a partner to attend class? Not at all. You’ll dance with lots of different people in classes. Some students come to classes with a partner, whether it be a friend or significant other. But the majority of people who attend dance classes come on their own. Some have significant others at home who don’t share their interest in learning to dance, but many single people of all ages attend dance classes as it’s a terrific way to socialize and meet new people.

TWO LEFT FEET?

What if I have two left feet and no rhythm, can I still learn how to dance? Yes absolutely you can, and we can help you! Our instructors include many of Vancouver’s best dance teachers, who are dedicated to creating a learning environment that is not only fun and encouraging, but also challenging and fulfilling.
